FANNED OUT SENSATIONAL LASHES
Ask me about mascaras five years ago and I would’ve told you that all mascaras look the same on the lashes — “it’s the same banana”— yikes! But now that i’ve used quite a number of them, they really don’t look all the same. I’d say some are meh, some are really good, and that there is a mascara for every occasion, personality, and even mood or feelz we have for the day.
I’d go for the Maybelline Falsies if i wanted dramatic voluminous lashes — this is usually on dinner dates, events, or anything that would get me to wear a bit of heels that day. And then there are days when I just want to chill, wear lesser makeup but still want to look pretty enhanced — that’s a job for this rosy tubed Lash Sensational mascara – Maybelline’s latest addition to their “dream team”.
BTW did you know that Maybelline’s Instagram is now global? They’ve combined the followers of all local Maybelline accounts into one. I’m sad cos we had a good thing going on with @MaybellinePH, the global merge could mean that the posts and interaction could cater less to Filipinos (more to US fans, besides not all products are available world wide, *ahem* still waiting on the Age Rewind concealer). We shall see what the new account has in store for us! At the very least it’s refreshing to interact with Maybelline fans from around the world under one roof.
LASHES IN BLOOM
Lash Sensational mascara has a unique fanning brush or as i call it “the (mascara) wand of moses” (we’re getting biblical here haha!) with 10 layers of bristles that are placed strategically to separate the lashes (just like what moses did to the red sea with his staff and epic prayers, hence the cheesy biblical analogy). My lashes are short, few, naturally curled up with each lash pointing in all sorts of directions — this brush combs them in place while coating the lash with a light weight mascara that creates a fanned out petals-in-bloom effect — all these with out any clumping.
So in a away the separation of each lashes creates a clean volumized effect and my lashes love this mascara for that. Just look at how fan flared and organized they are (worn above).
It’s waterproof, smudge proof, and it thickens each lash and adds some length to it that is just enough to make them look enhanced, but at the same time still leaning on a more natural look. So if you’re looking for super long dramatic volumized lashes this could not be for you. It is however a good mascara for those who wants to channel Dove Cameron’s beautiful well fanned out lashes — she’s the latest disney star whose natural lashes (or at least that what she said on her no makeup selfies) are to die for!
LSM will look very flattering on girls blessed with long lashes. As for me (girl with sparse lashes) I like to wear this on casual days when I want a damsel-in-distress fresh (less drama) makeup. What do you think of this mascara?
