MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS ON THE POP BEAUTY GLAMOUR BOX
I usually wait weeks or sometimes even months before I publish a makeup review to test it out. But today’s an exception cos I want to give you more info on what’s inside the POP Beauty #DropDeadGorgeous Glamour Box asap. To help you decide if you wanna order one for yourself before it sells out.
I have a feeling this box is going to be a crowd fave for those who like trendy “pop” makeup brands. Just look at how cute their ala Benefit-meets-Archie-comics packaging (btw did you know that CW is coming up with an Archie “Riverdale” TV series?). Plus you’re getting P4,000 worth of products for only P1,290. However, you still have to consider that you may not like all the items in it — hopefully these first impressions could help you out with this.
PS. In case you’re not familiar with Glamour Box it’s an online shopping site for makeup and other beauty stuff that also sells curated subscription boxes that features certain brands.
POW WOW Powder Beachin’ Bronze (P1190), is a collection of four complimenting bronze shades. I’m not sure if the quad is meant to be just a face bronzer, but it worked and lasted fairly good on me as an eyeshadow quad. The two lighter shades on the left are quite chalky and less pigmented (but buildable, you’ll need to use a primer with these), while the other darker shades on the right have good pigmentation and lasted longer on me. The color selection however are pretty darn good cos these are dupes of some of my fave high end bronzer (Nars laguna), and eyeshadows (from MAC and Urban Decays Naked 1 palette).
Peak Performance Brow in Natural Brunette (P790) Their slanted brow pencil is my favorite product in this box! It lasted well on me for five hours — i haven’t worn it longer than that, but i’ll report back when i do. The shade Natural Brunette is perfect on my fair asian skintone. I can see this working for most Pinoy skintones as well. The brush that it came with is the best thing about this product. It combs my brows so nicely and spreads out the product evenly after a few strokes. So far I like this brush better than my Holy Grail Etude House brow pencil’s brush.
Pouty Pop Crayon in Rose Romance (395) is a sheer glossy lip balm in a princess-ish baby pink shade, which i think the younger girls will like. Its very moisturizing and its gloss naturally makes the lips appear bigger.
SWATCHES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:
Permanent Pout RazzleRose, Pouty Pop Crayon Rose Romance, Peak Performance Brow Natural Brunette, Pow Wow Powder Beachin Bronze
Permanent Pout in Razzle Rose (750) The texture of this lipstick is awesome! Its creamy and super soft which sets it apart from the other liquid-y lippies i’m used too (kylie lip kits and colour pops). Its a beautiful dark mauve shade that falls into the kylie jenner lips color category. However, just like Kylie’s lip kit, this shade oxidizes and turns one to two shades darker on my lips after an hour which is a bit frustrating cos the original shade is so so beautiful.
Nail Glam Purple Plum (450) You guys I honestly haven’t worn this. I’m not really a nail polish kind of girl (yet), but I brushed it once on a nail just so i can quickly report back and tell you that it’s a beautiful dark plum color that is more violet in person compared to how it appears on the bottle. I saw other girls got a metallic champagne gold nail glam in their Glamour Box that I would’ve preferred more.
This box also includes a P400 gift voucher that you can use for a minimum purchase of P1500 at Glamour Box. What do you think of this Beauty box? Which of these products would you like to have? Even though I don’t see myself wearing a few things here in the long term (Pouty POP and Nail Glam), I personally really enjoy their Peak Performance Brow (especially this product!), Permanent Pout in Razzle Rose, and the darker shades in their POW WOW Powder Beachin’ Bronze.
