Olay Body Science Body Wash Review
Olay Body Science Body Wash Review
Cleansing and Nourishing, Firming, and Brightening
The number of times I wash my hands or take a shower have increased since the quarantine started. They’re the first things I do right after I receive a package from the courier or after a quick run to the hardware store. It’s a good way to protect yourself from getting sick. The only downside to it is that the frequent hand washing and baths can cause dry skin.
Having said that, I thought it would be very timely to share my first impressions review of the Olay Body Science Body Wash line that I recently got to try via Sample Room. I think this is the first Olay body wash that I’ve tried and I was really impressed at how they made my skin feel moisturized despite my regular trips to the shower. I did my research and it says that these products are infused with Niacinamide (aka Vitamin B3), a skin care ingredient that cleanses and improves our skin’s hydration by increasing our ceramide and fatty acid levels. It also repairs our skin barrier to help moisture retention. As a result, it should even out your skin tone, help fade age spots, diminish dullness, repair signs of skin damage, and brighten the skin.
Just in case you’re not familiar with Sample Room yet, it’s a free product sampling website (I’ll insert the link below) that lets you try products first before you buy to avoid the risk of buying products that don’t work for you. Plus, they’re also a friendly community of beauty enthusiasts that help each other out by sharing their product reviews and recommendations online.
TEXTURE & SIZES
I quite like their gold packaging, most especially that they come with a pump which is helpful in controlling the amount of body wash you use. Since a little product goes a long way. Inside the bottle is a white or yellow cream (depending on the variant). They are extremely creamy and they feel silky soft on my skin. It almost feels like having a milk bath at a spa! It’s such a comfortable experience. I feel moisturized as I use the body wash in the shower and the hydrating feeling remains on my skin throughout the day. I find that it is a lot more moisturizing than my other body wash.
These are available in sizes: 300ml – price P229, and 500ml – price P349. Tip: they can go on sale for around P210 and P320 on Lazada
The Olay Body Science Body Wash line is available in 3 variants:
Cleansing and Nourishing (orange label), this for me smells the most elegant and sophisticated of them all. Its fragrance notes are star fruit, pomelo, and violet leaf. And it contains Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid for bouncy, radiant skin.
Cleansing and Firming (red label) has an energetic fruity scent. I find that I like to use it more in the morning for a nice wake-me-up shower. Its fragrant notes are juicy strawberry, sweet pineapple, and anjou pear. And it has Niacinamide & peptide for a firm, radiant skin.
Cleansing and Brightening (white label) smells a bit floral, powder fresh, soft, and friendly, which I love! It’s fragrant notes are honey dew melon, apple blossom, and green bamboo. And it contains Niacinamide & Vitamin C for bright, radiant skin.
MY TOP FAVE
Picking the right variant for you will depend on what you feel your skin needs the most (nourishing, firming, or brightening), and your scent preferences.
As for me, my favorite Olay Body Science body wash would have to be the Cleansing and Brightening variant. I really enjoy its soft, ala girl-next-door scent. Plus I always go for products that makes my skin glow. The Olay Regenerist facial moisturizers are my go-to products for that extra glow for my face, and I’m glad this body wash can do the same for my body. I hope you get a chance to try these products if you haven’t yet. They’ve officially made it into my “new normal” routine as I like how they keep my skin feeling extra hydrated nowadays.
