I wasn’t always a huge fan of Avene — their bestselling Thermal Spring Water Spray sounded gimmicky to me at first so the first time I ever really got to try one was during one of Avene’s launch events in the Philippines. Ever since then I’ve been addicted to their Thermal Spring Water Spray, which worked wonders on my skin. I couldn’t believe it at first because the product’s ingredients were so simple and yet the “healing” results on my allergies were remarkable.

These same ingredients are in their newly packaged and formulated Avene Skin Recovery Cream. So if you’re already a fan of their mist like i am, you can expect it has the same moisturizing and healing properties.

The cream is made for all skin types but it is specifically beneficial for  those with hypersensitive skin — people prone to acne, skin allergies from the change of weather, dust and so on. It has absolutely no preservatives which makes the Skin Recovery Cream, and other Avene products uniquely safe for the most sensitive skin. And because the product as “pure” as it can be Avene designed a patented sealing system called DEFI (as shown on the photo above). If you notice the cap has a series of round ring openings that locks the product inside and make sure that it doesn’t come in contact with air and get contaminated. This way the product remains sterile until use.

I’m personally not prone to acne breakouts, but i do have allergies which is where i mainly used this cream on. I’ve applied it on the few big rashes on my cheeks that i got from using my dirty and long overdue for cleaning makeup brushes (a bad habit of mine!). It made the rash spot less itchy and made it go away completely after 1 1/2 day. I also noticed the my skin feels extra soft whenever i use this. Same effect goes for the rashes on my body where I applied it on.

This cream is going to be very helpful for those with sensitive skin. Just like their thermal spring water it really does help soothe irritations, heal them, plus i never got a breakout from using this product. It can also moisturize and soften the skin well – even more than their Thermal Water Spray.

I think the only thing lacking from it is a brightening effect that some moisturizers have. So you’re going to have to use a separate product for that. If you don’t have sensitive skin this could come in handy as a product you can switch into if you ever get rashes from a new makeup or during that time of the month’s acne breakouts. Have you tried any of Avene’s product?
