HOW I EARN EXTRA MONEY WHILE SHOPPING ONLINE

Snapchat friends and old readers would know that I’m addicted to online shopping (I partially blame all the bloggers I follow, you enablers!). Lets just say the more i get introduced to shiny new products, the more I shop. So I jump at anything that could give me extra savings — semi annual sales (or BFS) discount coupons, etc… and I know that this may sound gimmicky to some (it did to me at first!) but using rebate sites that refund a portion of what I spend when I shop is very rewarding. You guys, I’ve earned about PHP5000 (more or less USD110) in the past year just by accumulating rebates — that’s enough to get me the Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks in my wishlist!

That old rebate site I just mentioned mostly covers US based online stores only. So when I found out about Shop Back PH — a rebate website that actually includes both international and Philippine-based stores (or international shops that have door-to-door shipmensts, free from the hassle of arguing with the customs). I honestly got so excited that I signed up right away and used it to buy from Sephora PH, Zalora, and Althea. So far, I have P250 of rebate cash pending. A few more shopping trips and that’s already enough to add a Colour Pop eyeshadow to my collection! (Can you tell i have way too many makeup on my wishlist).

SHOP BACK PH
HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you’re not familiar with how rebate sites work, basically what I did was sign up first — ShopBack PH rewards you PHP100 just for signing up — browse from the list of stores they work with, click on a store I want to shop at, and then place an order. It’s very important though that I stay within the redirected window tab until my purchase is over so that ShopBack can track and credit my purchase.

After a few hours I receive an email updating how much cash back I’ve earned from shopping at that store. It could go from 1% to maybe even 12% rebate (or more) from the total amount of each order. You can redeem the money when your cash back reaches PHP300 and after 60-ish days — which to be honest at first would get me a bit turned off. But this is a common time frame with most rebates sites. They have to make room for any changes in case you return your purchase, plus they also have to wait for their store partners to send them back your rebates.

Trust me, a little patience goes along way. The extra savings you’ll get is worth the little extra time you spend activating ShopBack. Here’s a screenshot of the break down of my rebates. I’m still waiting for a few days and a few more purchases to complete my pay out which I should receive via PayPal and I’ll update this post with more proof as soon as I receive it. I looked up the company just for extra authentication and found out that they have worked closely with BPI before, and has been featured in Inquirer and Phil Star.

COUPONS & CASH REWARDS
WHEN YOU REFER A FRIEND

Other ways to earn and save at ShopBack include using the exclusive coupon codes they offer for the online shop. I gotta say, Philippines online stores you are late on the coupon bandwagon! — But I’m glad they’ve finally started offering them on some new sites now.

The other way is by referring a friend through a custom link you can get from their site. You and your friend will receive PHP100 cash for each referred friend that signs up using a link and shops with it., and another PHP100 when they make their first purchase. Pretty nifty eh? Here’s my *referral link* if you wanna try ShopBack. And if you do sign up using that link thank-you-very-much cos that means you just contributed to my colour pop eyeshadow fund! Have you guys tried ShopBack PH or any rebate site before?

My shopping steals:1ST photo – some stuff I got from Sephora; Zoeva brushes, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, Olay Serum, 2ND photo – asian skincare products I got from Althea; Laneige Sleep Mask, It’s Skin serum, and Happy Skin Girl Boss Lipstick (a MAC Mehr dupe!) from Zalora thanks to the cashback, and exclusive coupon codes from ShopBack.
