You know how Colour Pop US is difficult to find in Asia and Europe so we scout the online market for it, just like how asian and european skincare are hard to come by in the US so they do the same? You guys, Happy Skin is one of those brands that’s worth going out of your way for to get (btw they ship internationally). Their Shut Up and Kiss Me lippies — both gloss and matte (I spent hours looking like a lipstick hoarder swatching them all) — are super addicting to collect and also quite affordable (P549 to P649 / around $13). 

General formula is pretty consistent with all shades but I find that the gloss are more moisturizing than the mattes. It has Cupuacu butter (mattes), or shea butter and collagen (gloss) in it which makes them super moisturizing and creates this creamy texture that glides like butter on the lips. It feels almost like my lips are having a quick spa experience. 

The matte shades that i have — The Morning After, Honeymoon Glow, and Girl Boss — are very light, it feels almost like you’re not wearing any lipstick at all. They are pigmented (almost opaque on my pigmented lips). Longevity is an average of 5 hours before they start to fade a little. They fade after meal so you’re going to need to retouch to even out the color, but they do leave a beautiful and still pigmented stain you can easily get away with. My lips have a tendency to be as dry as the Sahara Desert so and i find that with most matte lipsticks i own, including these, i have to prep moisturize and scrub the lips before application. 

Honeymoon Glow is a beautiful warm muted rosy brown. It’s a bit more rose toned compared to the super neutral “brown” shades Kylie Jenner wears these days, which i think makes the HG more wearable. It’s like a sophisticated girl next door color that is easy to pair up with many other makeup looks and could fit mostly any occasion. I think a lot of you will love HG for that. 

The Morning After is a muted light – medium mauve. It’s a milkier lighter (but still really wearable) version of Girl Boss and MAC Mehr (also an old Kylie fave, she wore this shade a lot before her lip kits era). Compared to Honeymoon Glow, TMA to me is a little bit more cool toned, and vintage looking. 

I’m sure both shades will be as popular as their gloss versions cos they’re beautiful muted color that i feel would fit with most skin tones. And may I add that they also look so good when mixed together, they’re quite easy to blend! I love both shades equally, but if you’re thinking of getting just one shade for now… I recommend The Morning After for girls who like mauve slightly dramatic lipstick shades, and Honeymoon Glow for girls who are more into warm relaxed rosey shades.
